|

Hello everybody!
Once again I post my positive experience where I found accommodation for free. I was looking for housing in France because I was going there for a short term academic stay. I stumbled upon casaswap here in this very same forum and it turned out to be a great success for me. The service is free, but I have learned that a swapping profile works best (you can also rent or sublet).
My post was for some strange reason removed the other day and I cannot seem to find the other post that introduced me to the service in the first place??!!
Well, I just wanderede if there were others who know about this website and if so if you have any experiences to share??

Dear Bouha!
Well it is only seems to be completely free if you choose the "Swapper"-profile where you also offer a place to stay for somebody else. In other words it is free to exchange homes and of course to offer a home. But it is always free to join and use the network. I have used it with sucess, but you should visit it yourself to find information. I hope it works out for you too

Hi everybody,
I think I gave a bad description in my latest post. What I meant was that CasaSwap is free to use, but if you choose the "Renter" profile you may be subject to a rent when you find a homeowner. I chose the "Swapper" profile and I did not pay anything for my accommodation.
All the best

My girlfriend is going to study in Paris next semester. Her university recommend her to find accommodation through CasaSwap. Last week she found suitable accommodation in central Paris. I can't describe how thrilled she is.
Anyway, in my girlfriend opinion CasaSwap rules |

Hi Sonny,
Good idea. I'll ask her to comment on her experiences with CasaSwap before, during and after her exchange. Hopefully her experience can benefit others with the same problem.

Hello gumtree. Like others I also enjoy casaswap. What I think is unique about casaswap is their online support function. I had a question about travelling to sweden. From the online chat they answered my questions.
I hope casaswap will grow bigger and help others like my.
Look luck casaswap

Yeah, must say that it's very cool the casaswap site - found a place to stay within minutes, got in contact and have now agreed on renting a room in Barcelona during my placement there
thumbs up from here! |

Hey Pete - and everybody else!
The mentioned website is a place where you can find, offer or exchange your room for free. It is very easy to use and so far I have not heard of anyone having bad experiences. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Hey there.
Thanks for your reply, it sounds like a good concept. So if I'm looking to relocate to e.g. Spain or another place, I can simply sublet my own place or swap myself to a flat? Can it be used for holiday stays too?
I'll look into it for sure, thanks again!
Best

There's always the couch-surfing initiative. www.couchsurfing.com
I've just arranged to stay for 2 nights with a couple in London, then 2 nights in Paris, 2 nights in Brussels and then I'm on to Amsterdam.
There's a good verification system too. It's only really for short stop-overs, but still I've saved a lot of money plus meet awesome people |
