Hi all,

Anyone know the best way to book B&B accommodation around the UK. Staying in 6 different places over a space of 2 weeks so would like a easy to use website to book this. Or is it one of those things where I have to go onto each and every website? Also, do you think £20-£25 per person per night is reasonable or too cheap. Travelling around England and Scotland with the parentals so B&B's would be better than hostel.

Any thoughts, ideas????

It's very much a google search I'm afraid, combined with www.multimap.com to help pin point your destination.

£20-£25 per person per night is average. In Scotland and some parts of northern england i've had as low as £16 to £18, however that's well outside of any peak period. The most I've paid per person is £35 (there was no other option).

If you're not travelling through a busy period, don't book anything. Typically you'll find something on the way easily. Otherwise a good cheap chance is through www.travelodge.co.uk, who have £10 and £26 rooms, although you have to be either on a motorway or some average city at the time.

Hi,

Have you tried www.laterooms.co.uk - Its quite a good site and quite easy to use - It covers the whole of the UK so no need to visit many websites for each place visited ! - Also, the prices are per room (so no rip-off per-person prices !)

Go to www.bedsandbars.com and apply for one of their cards, it takes about a week to get to you in the post. Then you can book hostels from about £7 a night (£10 in London, £9.50 in Bath etc).

Also, The Globetrotter is quite good and sociable if you are looking for that kind of thing. There is one in London and one in Edinburgh, if you can stay there in Edinburgh, it's right on the edge of this lake, we were there in winter and the it just looks awesome. www.globetrotterinns.com

Good luck - hope you have a great time!

Have a look at TravelStay.com or StudyStay.com for a good choice of UK accommodation.

If you just want to know one website address, see:
http://www.ukstudentlife.com/Travel/Accommodation.htm

The B&B section has links to some B&B books - otherwise you just contact the local tourist information bureaus.

The Hotels section includes links to websites offering cheap (or last minute) hotels.

The Hostels section includes a link to a hostels website, which also includes some cheap hotels.

There is also a guide to many of the places you may be visiting in the section:
http://www.ukstudentlife.com/Travel/Tours.htm
(for each destination shown there are links helping you to find accommodation in those places, as well as tourist info & photos)

Enjoy the trip

Mark
