I would like Gumtree to track buyers more vigilantly as I keep getting emails of buyers trying to collect my details as they say they want to pay bank draft and cheque. Having encontered the same types of suspicious buyers on ebay I feel gumtree should try and let their customers know that these buyers are suspicious and posters should be vigiliant about giving out their details!! Also we should be able to report the buyers and their details should be passed onto the police so as to try to stop ID theft and fraud once and for all! Gumtree should put a notice on the home page of each city alerting posters to this as it is the only way to cut down this crime! |

Yep
I completely agree. I've had two people respond to me wanting to buy my car, but something just isn't right. Both people say they live abroad and will ahve an agent inspect, insure and collect the car but will pay by bank draft or cheque.
One of them is called Roland Stokes and the other is Alex Webb. I'm very intirgued to find out what sort of scam it is though!! |
