|

My 2 adds keeps getting deleted by gumtree:
Your Gumtree ad 6571415 - Deleted - Duplicate adverts
and the other one 6572885
I paid attention to differentiate the two but it still happening.
I have read all the FAQ and terms and condition and I still fail to see why my 2 adds are regularily deleted by gumtree.
I have two adds in the same section "computer sevices" under two different subcathegories, Compuetr reapir and Other Computer services
I am so tired of not being told why this is happening and to be forwarded to your FAQ where there is not much about deleted adds at all.
regards
Marco |

We only allow 1 ad per poster, per relevant category per day. If you are posting more than one ad, all duplicated ads will be removed from the site. If you continue to post multiples we will be forced to restrict your access. This is to protect our users from wasting there time and being able to maximise benefits of the service.
For more information on our policies regarding multiple ad postings see the link below:

Now the rule is clarified and I will stick to it, but my two adds are actually different, selling different services and in different sub-categories, respecting the relevance of the categorie so I really fail to see why you are being so undiscriminate.
Anyway, thanks for the explanation |

A message for bra girl
In a reply you wrote, "if people continue to post mulitple ads then there access will be restricted".
Why say stuff that you don't mean. If that is the case then why doesn't that happen. In the removals section I reported god knows how many times that the same people have around 5 or 6 adverts, so how come there access hasn't been restricted.
So how come you never do restrict peoples access when you have clearly stated that is what will happen. You should have a look in the removals section and see for yourself.
I can guarantee that you either won't reply back or you will just tell me to click on the right hand side of the ad to report them as a duplicate. Why should I have to keep doing this when you can just restrict there access like you have said.
I can honestly say that I have come to the conclusion that gumtree is rubbish |

Hi there Foxy
We are sorry to hear that you are feeling this way.
The Gumtree is a community site intended for members of the community to meet and exchange goods and services and to be involved in their local areas.
We do try to monitor the sites but the site is so popular and the ads far outnumber the xray vision eyes that keep a look out. Thats why we need you guys to be our eyes on the site.
In future if you come across any ad that you feel we should look at on gumtree.com, please use the "Report this ad to Gumtree admin for review" function on the bottom right of the ad. This is the quickest and easiest way to bring our attention to an ad.
All the best with the site!!

Well I'll just post 6 ads in the removals section for my boyfriend just how everyone else is doing it.
If everyone else abuses the rules and you don't do anything about them, then I'll just do the same thing. |

Here at Gumtree we want to make sure that the site is as “clean”, friendly and usable as possible for everyone. Ads that are reported to us and/or fall outside our postings policies/terms and conditions may be removed from the site. Advertisers that regularly break our posting policies may find their future use of the site restricted. For a list of our terms and conditions please see the following link: http://www.gumtree.com/disclaimer3.htm
In almost all cases we email the advertiser explaining the reasons for deletion. Please check for emails from ‘postings@gumtree.com’ to read any messages from us about this (these emails sometimes get directed to “Trash” or “Junkmail”, so please check these folders).
The “What kind of ads do you accept?” FAQs provide key information on what we can and can’t accept in each of the categories:
http://www.gumtree.com/gumtree_faq.html#top
Some common reasons for deletion are highlighted below.
- Wrong Category
Having postings in the right category is key to ensuring that advertisers are as successful as possible with responses to their post, and to help Gumtree users find exactly what they are looking for.
Some examples of ads that will be deleted due to wrong categorisation include Casual ads posted in the Dating (e.g. Guys seeking Girls etc) sections, and ads by commercial sellers in the For Sale, Community or Accommodation categories (when they should be in Business Services).
To make sure that your ad is posted in the right category, we’d recommend that if you haven’t already, you take a look at the “What kind of ads do you accept?” FAQs for some more specific examples of what is and isn’t allowed by category:
http://www.gumtree.com/gumtree_faq.html
- Multiple duplicate postings
We only allow 1 ad per poster, per relevant category per day. If you are posting more than one ad, all duplicated ads will be removed from the site. If you continue to post multiples we will be forced to restrict your access. This is to protect our users from wasting their time and being able to maximise benefits of the service.
This also includes multiple duplicated ads across more than one Gumtree site, see here for details:
http://www.gumtree.com/gumtree_faq.html#15
- Illegal/ fraudulent ads
Any postings suspected as illegal or fraudulent activity will for obvious reasons be removed.
- Defamatory/ offensive/ abusive
We will remove any ads reported to us as, or suspected of being, defamatory, abusive or offensive.
This system has all the imperfections of a democratic system. If you have read the FAQs, are confident your posting adheres to our guidelines completely and is in the spirit of Gumtree, please feel free to let us know via support@gumtree.com. Please don’t post in this forum about your ad being deleted, as we can’t answer specific questions about your ads here in public.
Bye for now,
The Gumtree Team |
