Hi
I'm just wondering if the BUNAC is helpful in terms of assisting you in setting up a bank account and national insurance card. Also, is it a good resource place for finding a job and a place to live? Basically, my question is for anybody who joined the program, are you satisfied?
Thanks |

I did bunac a couple of years ago. I had a realy good time, but i was lucky in meeting good people on the flight over to canada. We stayed in university accomodation. Make sure you take plenty of cash, as I ran out and I only managed to find a part time job. I went for 3/4 months during the summer holidays.
Although the Bunac company will help you by giving advice and support, they don't realy go out there way to help you find a job or accomodation, you have to do all that by yourself.
My advice would be to pay upfront for your accomodation, so if you run out of money you still have somewere to stay. I can imagine some people end up on their own (unlucky in finding like minded people to share their experience with). However just remember that there is always the bunac office staff for support and when you find a job you will probably meet a lot of people anyway.
it can be difficult finding a job, but its all part of the fun. And I had a realy good time and would advice you to go for it. |
