Hey travegrl.
When I first arrived in London from oz I took live in pub work about 30mins from Victoria on the train (past croydon!) - the pay was quite low (£4.50 p/h!)and they worked us till 1-2am and then from 9am... the main problem was that they locked us in the pub at night time! I have heard of people who have quite good conditions when working in pubs over here... try to ensure (if doing live in) that the accomodation is away from the pub or that you are free to come and go when you please... but it is a good way to save some cash to travel etc as they provide all meals. hope this helps! |

hi travelgrl
id recommend that u head straight down to bigton, and get a pub job down on the coast
its only an hour out of london, pays the same, yet has an amazing summer vibe down there!
if u head down there, get a job before summer, try it out, and realize that brightons not for u... then u can move up to london, much easier than being in the big smoke over summer, when everyone else has awsome summer jobs on the beach!
just a thought... |

thank for the replys guys, yes i have heard brighton is a nice/fun place for young people, i might actually check it out first. it quite daunting heading straight into london without a clue, so maybe the best option.
by the way, what are the beaches like? |
