| Planning a trip to Egypt in summer. Can anyone recommend Go-Egypt or any other company? With all these packages available, it would be nice to hear from travellers firts-hand :D (even if you could mention a company I should rather NOT use?) |

Hi, I did Egypt 'on the go' (think that was the name) a couple of years ago. They were ok, though the Egyptologist rattled on a fair bit and thought he was way cooler than he actually was. It was a 6 night tour with 3 nights on either a Faluka (sailing boat) or a cruise boat. I opted for the cruise boat, which seeing as I had just spent the previous day vomiting and on the toilet, was shear heaven. Everyone got sick on the tour, though some to a lesser extend than others. Personally I had to get an injection . My suggestion to you is to take antibacterial hand wipes with you and use them all the time, also have some Imodiem and anti nausea tablets. Enjoy. |

| got back from egypt a month ago went with Oasis they are the ones who also do the big trucks, pretty good but I would wait until it cools down from now too hot to enjoy so if you have the time wait until summer is over. Big tip avoid the eggs I think that was a big problem on our trip and alcohol and heat dont i repeat dont mix |

| I'm going in August for 2 weeks, it's going to be about 40 degrees. Never been before, but we're going to a hotel in Sharm el Sheikh! Sorry I can't give any tips, never having been, but I am very excited! |

If only going for a couple of weeks, get a cheap package deal to Luxor and use the accommodation as a base. You can travel to the coast and pick up a couple of nights accommodation very cheap.
I was lucky with a last minute package deal, 219 pounds for two weeks at the Sheraton Luxor, Breakfast and dinner included, last time I went there.
Tip: for the "Bali belly", take a cask (box) of red wine with you and drink a glass every day. I have used this throughout Africa, and Aisian travels and have never had the "Bali Belly".
It works, or maybe I am too pissed to remember!!!! |

I did Oasis too and they were great, although from what I hear many of their tours (including ours) are targeted at couples so it wasn't ideal for a solo traveller. Nonetheless it was a great group and I couldn't fault the company.
In reference to Sharm el Sheik- I would bypass it and get down to Dahab instead and do some diving and relaxing. It's a great place and not full of resorts like the former. |
