First of all rules:

No personal information apart from that of companies that could help,

No threats,

Keep to point

Knightswood estates of worcester park surrey and its owner Jamie Dore appear to owe a lot of people money including me.

Due to him not answering phone calls this is a request to anyone out there who may know who the liquidator is so that I can registar for the money he owes me.

7. How can I find out the name of the liquidator of a certain company?

This information is provided free on the Companies House website (www.companieshouse.gov.uk) or by calling 0870 333 3636.

Companies House confirm they have no details of this company being in liquidation. They say it is a legal requirement for them to be informed within 14 days of a liquidator being appointed. Knightwoods letter to us was dated 12th May and mentioned pending liquidation so this process seems to be well overdue.

We have been checking the london gazette for notices of liquidation and there is nothing there either.

Interestingly when we checked companies house we found that their accounts are a little overdue!

..... and also that they have changed their name in August 2004 from IDEAL MANAGEMENT (1509) LIMITED. There are a string of dissolved companies bearing a very similar name (with only the bracketed number changing)!

It does seem very interesting that Knightswood Estates have not informed you of who the liquidator is.....

Have you filed compaints with trading standards and the police?

I am a Community Moderator (voluntary), not an employee of Gumtree so this is my guess.

My guess is that it was removed for breaching forum rules by either a community moderator or Admin.

When companies are brought 'off the shelf' via a service company or accountant that helps people set up their companies for them (instead of the director setting them up directly with companies house), it wouldn't be unusual if they bought up a whole group of similarly named companies for convenience.

In other words, a 3rd party set up a series of dormant companies to sell on.

Another Victim - Who have you moved your business too?

We moved to Coopers and they have been great so far, registered with the OEA for letting and interestingly they are cheaper too! If only we have known this last year!

And they pay on time!

You can phone the furniture company that Jamie's father has- it is in the same shop. Apparently the whole shop is now a furniture company! I am so glad I left him before Xmas- I picked up there was an issue last summer when I found out he had lied about my rent not being paid to him on time for him to pass on. Further more, how can one person have so many issues with a bank?

It is amazing how many serial failures there are in business, people who lurch from one crisis to the next, leaving destruction behind them

Hello, I noticed this forum in relation to Knightwoods. I too have lost a considerable amount of money, I went past the shop two days ago and noted that a man was sitting at the desk selling furniture.
I did not proceed further at this stage, i have taken legal advice and they have confirmed that I need to seek out whether the company went into liquidation, this will enable me to issue my claim based upon the correct details.

I find its disheartening that I have had to go to all this trouble as I am not a bad landlord and have been left in this position by an agent.

I think it would be useful all those affected by this to meet somewhere and thrash out exactly what has been lost and what action 'a group' could achieve collectively.

taking individual legal action is a costly excercise undertaking group proceedings would considerably reduce the cost and also let us talk to each other about our experiences - currently I feel very isolated and depressed by the whole situation.

thanks

S.L

I would really like to know why the previous thread (DONT USE KNIGHTWOOD ESTATE AGENTS) was removed. I think there was some good info and advice making the rounds there. Makes me wonder if Jamie got to it.
Anyway, last time I checked in I downloaded the threads from 1st April to 3rd June so if anyone wants some of the previous thread, email a request to Catch_Jamie.Dore@yahoo.com and I'll send you the PDF. Wish I knew how to upload it to this thread but alas, I'm new to all this.

I'm very interested in the class action as this will reduce our costs and increase our chances of nailing the crook. Any suggestions/initiatives in this regard would be welcome. We've got to remember that he's a seasoned crook so we'll have to work hard to get him.

....I'm guessing because Mr Dore complained his civil liberties were being abused! Twisted Evil

Jamie (or someone purporting to be Jamie) did in fact find this thread and posted a response on it.

It is not beyond the wit of man to find his reponse in the Google cache with a couple of crafty queries.

Good luck to you all..

I have just stumbled across this thread and I have to say, I have no sympathy for you lot whatsoever.
With comments like:

"We moved to Coopers... they are cheaper too!"

When I die, I want people to say of me.
"That guy sure owed me a lot of money"

"taking individual legal action is a costly excercise undertaking group proceedings would considerably reduce the cost"

"I'm very interested in the class action as this will reduce our costs"

I am spotting a common theme here... you're all tight as a gnat's chuff! Surely, if you go for the cheapest possible deal out there... and be honest, it probably was the main reason you chose this character... WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?
When I let out my own properties I use ARLA-regulated lettings agents. It is for these reasons that ARLA was set up. Sure, it cost me a little more, but it protects my investment and gives me peace of mind.

One question, did any of you visit this guy's office... And I quote:

"You can phone the furniture company that Jamie's father has- it is in the same shop."

HAHAHAHAHAHA. You mugs! Did nobody think this was a little odd for a reputable letting agent? What was it called again, Steptoe and Son? You make me laugh OUT LOUD!
Get a life you losers!

Just wanted to thank the writer of the previous post for cheering us all up. We thought we had problems, but to be scouring the internet for threads on forums that they have no involvement in , and to actually go to the effort of putting together a post to try to offend other writers on the forum – now that’s REALLY sad! Maybe they should get out more!! I’m feeling better already!
