Hey, I spontaneously went out today and booked a flight to Sydney for mid-Sept and I plan on travelling around before looking for work.

I'm interested to see if anyone is doing anything similar and would like to get in touch or if anyone has done this before and can offer me some tips??

Good spontanious action. I done the same just over a month ago. Flyin into sydney myself on the 6th october. No real plans as yet, plenty time though. Try checkin out gapyear.com you'll find loads of people headin out september time.

Yeah, I checked out gap year too and your right, there seems to be quite a few of us going out in September!

I'm planning on just chilling for a few weeks, do a bit of travelling before I start working. Stay in touch, the more friendly faces I meet the better!

Cool will do. You got any definite plans for when you arrive or things you'd like to do. Im kinda thinkin about leavin it open seen what life throws my way. Im hopin to be their the full year and workin for sure but hopin to see alot of different places.

[story so far]

sydney is grand for a visit but im just back from australia and there is no work in sydney. it is good around xmas and is a good place to live but alot of people are coming back due to the lack of work. it sucks you in and is hard to get out of once your in it. but if your looking for place to stay or that email me and i can help you out. but australia is not much better then the uk for work if you go on the sydney gumtree and look for jobs you can see that some jobs have only been up an hour and have about 400 visits. best of luck and enjoy..
