5. No SPAM, commercial advertisement or links to promote other websites – this includes using a company name as your username or having a commercial link in your signature.
6. Forums are for chat not ads! - if you want to advertise a job/ sell your car/ rent out your flat etc then please post an ad in the listings.

| Firstly I would like to thank you because its clear you have shown your true colours and have now definately given me something to go to your superiors with i was hoping it wouldnt come to this but you have left me no alternative, i am on here trying to help people with no personal gain for myself apart from the peace of mind knowing that someone else wont have to go through what i went through to in finding some form of extra income, if it was my site i could understand and since i am not as you stated previously giving people my referral code then there could be no possible gain for myself, this is a RECESSION people come on here looking for help but you are trying to stop that from happening this is unbelievable everything that you said i have done is wrong i am merely answering someones question i am not even putting the details in the forum itself, you told someone not to leave there personal email details then when you do this how else are people supposed to pass on helpful information to others, if i was like i said affiliated in some way to the site or getting personal gain then yes i would admit i had done wrong but i will not allow you to put me down at every opportunity and get away with it when all i am doing is trying to help people like me. |

HI Claire,
I dont have any superiors, I am an unpaid volunteer on here.
The rules are simple
Community Rules
Gumtree has always been a friendly and welcoming online community. These simple posting rules are in place to protect this spirit on the forums and promote friendly discussion and banter.
1. Keep it friendly – this is the golden rule. It means no flaming, trolling or ridiculing of members. While differences of opinion and banter are a part of everyday forum life, insults and any other kind of unfriendly behaviour are not acceptable.
2. Respect different races, nationalities, religions etc – Gumtree is a multi-cultural community and it goes without saying that racism in any form is not tolerated. But please also be aware that posting strong views about race, nationality or religion can easily cause offence to others and at the mods discretion may be removed. Any deliberately inflammatory threads are not acceptable.
3. No offensive/ illegal material – including pornographic or other explicitly violent content or links.
4. No personal details – please don’t publish someone’s personal details such as their real name or photographs. . Even if the details are taken from elsewhere on the internet. We also strongly recommend that you don’t post your own personal details, on this or any other public forum.
5. No SPAM, commercial advertisement or links to promote other websites – this includes using a company name as your username or having a commercial link in your signature.
6. Forums are for chat not ads! - if you want to advertise a job/ sell your car/ rent out your flat etc then please post an ad in the listings.
You feel you help people?
so do I, I have saved people on here thousands of pounds and I am fairly experienced in soptting scams and cons. your may or may not be but the rules are above.
feel free to take out an ad telling people what you do. |

Hi,
unfortunately the rules say don't advertise a job so it is hard for us to give you advise here.
Go through the adds or make your own add on gumtree and you will get a lot of response. Some are good, some not. But as it is free you have got nothing to loose!
Good luck!
Best wishes

i think the rules are fair.
there is unlimited space to be used for advertising jobs offered or wanted. if someone wants to find or offer a job, they can find plenty of adverts, but no space for discussion. that space is HERE. cooking in the kitchen, sleeping in bedroom, and defecating in the loo. CLEAR?
i know how temptating it is to help someone if you can help. and if it is alright, i believe the admin would close one eye ocassionally, but the clair`s way does not seem to be quite alright. |

Totally agree with you on that! That's what I ment.
Who ever wants to help will have adds on gumtree anyway |

Hi Claire,
i think you need to take a chill pill.
You and whatever home scheme you have found might well be the greatest thing since sliced bread but we only have your word for it and no-one knows anything about you.
its not gumtrees job to check out every thing sold here and tell if its legit.
Scammers rarely come out and tell you that they are scammers they will profess to be ministers, god will get mentioned quite a few times, i only want to help you will get there too. so do MLM 'ers as the nature of their business is to recruit more people they come across as lovely chaps and usually the business is simply to recruit more members who are paying a fee.
be appreciative of others mistrust, some people have lost a lot of money to schemes.
its only the internet rosebud |

| I have just been reading this particular forum disscussion and claire I feel for you girl, I personally don't feel you broke any rules and unfortunately when trying to help someone, sometimes inadvertanly it does'nt alway's go to plan. I think i may have to watch what I post in future I am pretty new to this and think I may have mentioned something i shouldn't have already! Apologies if this is the case. |

Hi!!
I am not sure what job you are looking for. Don't PAY for any kind of work. If they ask you to pay it might probably be a scam. Check for companies and recruitment agnecies in your area and apply with your CV. I recently found a site on Oil and Gas related careers which was useful for me. If that is what you are looking for then check out : http://www.careersoilgas.com.
Regards

| Regarding this subject, i think all involved in this discussion need to take one. I believe claire was merely answering a question that was asked of her. If the result of this thread is someone making money in times of hardship, then where is the harm. I personally was under the impression that was the purpose of the forum. |

| To get back to the original question, one thing I would say is that employers aren't looking for people that can do 'everything'. You'll likely have better luck deciding on what you want to do and then going for that. Matching your cv to the role will help. |
