|
|
Im tired of all these fake people on Gumtree, especially on the dating, penpals and job sites.
Every time i respond to a woman who i think may be ok on the dating site,i get a reply taking my to another site where i have to join up,use a credit card(no chance) and enter all my id of which i dont entertain at all. Also why are there so many prostitutes and fakers using these dating sites and penpals and allowed to get away with it by Gumtree.I suppose because Gumtree get a fee.
The job sites are just as bad with companies so ungenuine in their response to answering my reply.I feel if i ever got a job on a Gumtree jobsite there must be something really dodgy about them.
There must be so many people on here who have experienced all these problems.
I feel that there are 80% of ads on here that you cant trust and its a question of being very lucky to find one of the 20% genuine ones on here.
How has the internet world become such a breeding ground for greedy wanabees, scammers and people that you could not trust as far as one could throw them.London being the biggest city in Europe has become unmanageable on all these matters. |

It would be easy for gumtree to sort out
1
If a company is REAL they will be happy to publish there correct address - currently you can put any postcode YOU LIKE never mind multiposting daily and being reported without being banned.
2
Gumtree should makes those type of users register by sending out a postcard activation code to the address for a small joining fee , this would remove those timewasting ads.
3
Gumtree could charge for ads on those service sections, this would take out the multiposters who sit all day posting new ads when they start going down the list or deleting them and reposting every few hours - one day one ad, level playing field.
4
other sites have something that detects if you place more than one in in a day why dont gumtree do this
5
Maybe gumtree are happy with those scammers/time wasters poster/multiposters hogging all the spaces because it generates traffic....those people visiting the site doing this will account for a huge amount of valuable internet traffic which would go to other sites if restricted. |

1 yup
2 costs money
3 some ads cost for the free ads tho gumtree was initially set up as a free ad site
4 cos it would be a sad world if we were all the same
5 gumtree are currently the 13 the busiest site in the uk
i believe they are constantly working to defeat spammers but its not an easy job |

| Well you can have free ads, I was suggesting businesses who gain from ads paying for postings that make them money, this would remove people whom abuse it. |

Yes thats very true you do pay for enhanced ads but underneath them is a free for all so called businesses multiposting free will, so restrict it by charging a nominal fee to register as such, those sections only.
To join the forum you have to activate an account /user name via email link so why not for those postings, users open one account and keep user name for example busness name etc for business user only and if you get reported for use abuse you get knocked off the list and banned.
simple stuff and would clear out the dross on this site. |
