I agree with castlegr... go to the Citizen's Advice Bureau to see where you stand legally before deciding on a course of action.

I'd go to your local college and learn it in the evening. The qualification will probably be more highly respected as well, compared to a purely online course.

there are loads of online writing companies.. I'd go beyond Cork to find one as you'll have a lot more choice.

the public sector seems to be doing better than the private sector at the moment so you may want to approach your local council directly
